Victoria Homestay Host # 9321

Me and my husband had been students in countries away from our home country. We know how much students miss their home and look for a homely environment in new place. Once we got our own place we thought of providing an international student home awa walking, watching TV/movies, making friends, reading The best feature of this neighbourhood is its easy accessibility to university and other schools and still being near to nature. The house is on the Lochside drive trail that goes all the way to Sidney. Nice place for outdoor activities while being in Victoria. Though the room does not have a TV at the moment but if the student is interested that can be arranged. I do feel that watching TV together will be better for the student to feel at home.

We’ve have had homestay students in the past and have found that it broadens our outlook into other cultures. Mom and daughter love to shop at malls.
We are Catholics and attend Mass on the weekend (usually Sunday morning, sometimes Sat. evening)
we sometimes go and cheer Mario(oldest son – 23) on at hockey.
Mikela (13) has a passion for acting and in september shall be attending a mini-school for Drama. That means ther should be some "shows" we can go and watch. Mom has been accepted into SFU Surrey for a 4 month teacher certification Program starting in September. We are a busy household. In the evenings we generally relax and watch TV or socialze online with friends. This house is brand new – less than one year since we moved in.
The room is at the front of the house facing south so it gets lots of sunlight throughout the day. It has a big closet with built-in dresser. The closet doors are sliding and are full-length mirrors.
Three of the walls are painted fire-enginge red, while the third wall is painted in checkerboard black and white squares. One of the best features of the room is that it has its own private balcony outside leading from the room through a door that is full length glass and able to be locked for security. Mikela (13.5) has her room on the same floor and there is a third guest room. There is a bathroom on the floor with a shower hookup in the bathtub. The linen closet is right outside of the bathroom.
